Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing
EMDR stands for “Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing”. Utilizing tactile bilateral brain stimulation, we support clients in desensitizing to and reprocessing traumatic events. EMDR also works to assist patients in reprogramming their thought processes. After successful treatment with EMDR therapy, patients typically are able to reformulate negative beliefs and reduce physical arousal. During EMDR therapy the client attends to emotionally disturbing material in brief sequential doses while simultaneously focusing on an external stimulus.
