NARM Therapy

Neuro Affective Relational Model

NARM Therapy (Neuro Affective Relational Model)

NARM stands for “Neuro Affective Relational Model” and is a cutting edge form of psychotherapy that combines several modalities to treat complex PTSD and developmental, relational or attachment trauma.

If you come from a family where alcoholism and addiction were present, NARM may be helpful in addressing your struggles. If you suspect your parents were suffering from their own traumas, untreated mental health concerns or had a personality disorder, NARM may facilitate your healing.

NARM combines four primary organizing principles:

  • Supporting connection and organization
  • Exploring identity
  • Working in present time
  • Regulating the nervous system

NARM leverages five developmental life themes: connection, attunement, trust, autonomy, and love. Leveraging these themes allows patients to experience regulation and connection.
