Autism Spectrum Disorders

Autism Spectrum Disorders

Autism Spectrum Disorders are developmental in nature and produce a way of approaching the world that may look a little different to others. Thoughts, behaviors and feelings that make sense to those with Autism (or related disorders, like Asperger’s syndrome) may cause upset in school and work environments and important relationships in life. While not rooted in trauma, these things can cause the individual and those in relation with them distress as they try to navigate very different worlds.

If you are an individual on the Autism spectrum who struggles at times to understand the world around you, we may be able to help. If you are the parent, spouse or friend of an individual on the spectrum and find yourself perplexed or wanting to help your loved one, Tree of Life may be able to provide the support you need. Through cognitive behavioral work, communication and coping skills training and relationally based psychotherapy, we may be able to bridge the gap that exists between two very different realities. We accept individuals on the Autism spectrum aged 16 and up. A consult will be done to ensure Tree of Life will be the best fit for your presenting concerns.

If you are coping with the Autism spectrum, or have a loved one who is, there are ways that the Tree of Life team can help. Please contact us today to schedule an appointment.
